100$ bounty (Java developer needed): debug damaged MultiBit wallet and export private keys

I'm posting this on behalf of steauacris89 whose English is a bit bad. He opened this thread yesterday, and subsequently an issue was raised on MultiBit's GitHub page.
His issue is that MultiBit somehow generated an invalid address "1FYMZEHnszCHKTBdFZ2DLrUuk3dGwYKQxh" and his coins are stuck in limbo.
Here is a description of what needs to be done by one of MultiBit's developers, so if you've got the skills to help steauacris89 out, please do so.
Naturally, since he'd have to basically give his wallet and password to some stranger, I'd recommend steauacris89 carefully chooses somebody with a positive track record on Reddit or with bitcoin (like Johoe), and not some random recently generated account whose only goal is to steal his coins. If said person wants to help steauacris89 for free, without the $100 bounty, even better.

I just made my first purchase using bitcoins. I have some questions.

Bought the Humble 2k bundle($1)... I used Multibit for the purpose.
My questions:
How did HumbleBundle knew the payment was from me? Do they generate new wallet address every time someone makes a request to pay with bitcoins and check if they receive payment on that address? Do all websites that accept bitcoins, do this?
I had to pay some "miner fee". How do I know/calculate what's the miner fee is before I try make purchase, so that I know I have enough bitcoins in my wallet? Multibit showed what the miner fee was only when I was about to confirm(enter wallet password). Do other clients calculate it beforehand?
I wanted to try using a different address to 'send' my payment. But Multibit still used the previous address(the one I received bitcoins on) even though I had already generated multiple wallet addresses. How do I send payment via different wallet addresses using Multibit? Or does Multibit not support this feature?
Is Multibit good or should I be using different client/wallet software?
Thanks in advance!!
